I had to look in my passport to work out that it is 4 years almost to the day that I was last in Singapore. And just like 4 years ago when they held the 1st night Formula 1 GP, the city is busily closing roads and preparing for the race in 2 weekends time.
It's always nice to visit Singapore, but it is a bit to manicured for my liking. Had a good look around, using their very impressive metro & avoiding a quite heavy tropical storm.
We walked miles which was great. The only disappointment was that we went to visit the Museum of Asian Civilisations - just behind the national parliament, only to find that it didn't open until 1 pm & we needed to be elsewhere by then. We may get to see it on the way home.
Rhonda's work has a corporate monkey that goes on tour with staff. Rhonda has had it thrust upon her - so being the dutiful person she is we took only 3 photos today & all 3 had the monkey in them. We took 2 of the impressive Marina Shores hotel & museum of Art & Science (I think it is called), and then one of the monkey schmoozing up to Rhonda's Singapore Sling - at the Raffles Long Bar.
So - out at the airport waiting for the flight to Rome. It leaves at 1 am & arrives in Rome at about 7:30 am. No its not a 6.5 hour flight - more like 12 hours I think. I'll work it out once I've survived it.
